Everyday Makeup | Summer Edition

Summer is a time where I don't want to wear a lot of makeup.  I find that a full face often conflicts with Tennessee's hot and humid summers, so I have found a solution with these products.

1. Face

○ an old sponge from a Chantecaille powder compact
This concealer works very well for me.  I have very dark circles from allergies and works well in place of a high end product.
This color is almost a little dark for me during the winter months.  I have tried the La Mer Reparative SkinTint with SPF 30, and I do actually like it better than the Laura Mercier and will be purchasing it when this runs out.
○ a Max Studio foundation brush I found at TJ Maxx
I was skeptical about using a brush for foundation at first, but this brush was a pleasant surprise--I had always applied it with a sponge.

2. Cheeks

○ Chantecaille Cheek Shade in Joy
I also purchased the case (Pebble Compact) for this blush since the actual product is sold as a refill.
○ An ancient Bobbi Brown Blush Brush
I think I finally need a new one because it's starting to occasionally shed bristles.  I have had this one for so long I don't even remember when I got it.

3. Eyebrows

○ an ancient Anastasia brow set
My next and much needed brow purchase will too be from Anastasia.  The colors of this line look so natural, especially in the powder.  I plan on getting the Brow Powder Duo in Taupe Based Brown.
an equally ancient Bobbi Brown Eye Definer Brush I use for my eyebrows.
I don't really foresee a new brush purchase in my future because this one is still so nice.

4. Eyes

My only critique on this product is that eyeliner rubs off on it during the day and because of how well it stays on makes it very hard to rub the eyeliner away.  Though, this color is a beautiful creamy gold that looks beautiful with a cream top and gold jewelry.

○ Limited Edition Bobbi Brown eye shadow palette
When I am feeling motivated and have time I use the Espresso eye shadow in this palette for eye liner.
○ Bobbi Brown Eye Liner Brush
This brush allows for a perfectly done cat eye with a precise line.

○ L'Oréal Voluminous mascara
I have used countless drug store and high end mascaras and this is my favorite.  The only other contenders are the Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye Mascara and Extreme Party Mascara.  All of these mascaras have very full brushes and add volume, but the Smokey eye offers a slightly smaller brush that seems to lengthen well.
**mascara cocktail of the gods:  L'Oréal Voluminous mascara and Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye mascara
I've recently starting curling my eyelashes again, and this is my favorite curler that I've found so far because it isn't too harsh on my lashes.

All of these products combine to make a flawless 10 to 15 minute makeup look that is perfect for a hot summer or spring day!
